
White Bison Mending Broken Hearts Training for Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma
Participants must be able present a negative COVID-19 test a week prior to attend this training. Results can be emailed to info@whitebision.org or shown to the trainer on the first day of the training. Masks, hand sanitizer, social distancing and daily temp checks are also required to insure the safety of the participants and the trainer.
Purpose:
Train facilitators to implement this curriculum in their community. Develops grief healing coaches in the community to heal from unresolved grief and the losses created by the legacy of Historical and Intergenerational Trauma, especially the effects of the Boarding School era.
Mending Broken Hearts: Healing from Unresolved Grief and Intergenerational Trauma workshops in your own community. Assist family members and friends in dealing with grief. Assist family members and friends in dealing with the legacy of Boarding Schools and the experiences of Intergenerational Trauma. Make lesson plans for implementing each of the sessions. Organize and lead community recovery talking circles. Apply traditional ceremonies to specific aspects of the grieving process. Apply mind mapping as a learning and organizing tool.
