Congenital Syphilis Supplement (STI-MCH Projects)

The Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI)-Maternal Child Health (MCH) Program focuses on the cross section of STIs and MCH initiatives. The program focuses on providing communities with STI education materials, syphilis trainings, Tribal outreach, and STI testing in communities. The program aims to build capacity, strengthen programs, and empower communities to ultimately help improve health outcomes related to STIs and reduce congenital syphilis. The program also provides education materials for congenital syphilis, general prenatal care education, and provides support for Tribal programs in our service area that focus on prenatal to age three. This includes utilizing an evidence-based home visiting program developed for and with Indigenous communities called Family Spirit.

Vaccine Hesitancy

Activities are focused on vaccine awareness and increasing rates of vaccinations among Native communities. Educational materials are available for tribes, communities, and individuals. Support for Tribal vaccine programs, like vaccine incentives and others, are available to Tribal programs that request it.
